After spending several years as part time residents of Mariposa, Karen and her husband Michael, decided it was time to become locals. The quiet beauty of the hills, the piping of the quail, coupled with the warm environment of the town, finally won the tug-of-war between city and country living. Karen was born and
raised in Southern California, then moved to the
Monterey Peninsula where she spent years working in
advertising, marketing, remodeling homes, and most
recently as a computer programmer. Her love of
fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and
cross-country skiing often drew her to the Sierra
and Gold Country. Mariposa was a longtime favorite
stop over between the Monterey Peninsula and the
Sierras. Somewhere along the line, Mariposa became
the focal point of the journeys because of its
endless year-round outdoor recreation, fascinating
history and spectacular beauty.
